Nature is not a place to visit…it is home.

Hello! Welcome to Living Designs by Lu.

For as long as I can remember, I have felt a strong connection to the natural world around me. I have always felt most at peace surrounded by trees and plants, swaying grasses, the smell of earth and peat and rain in the wind. Those who know me, know that I am a home-body. Through and through. The world is vast, and experiences in it, endless. But for me, in this busy world, filled with distractions and noise, the draw to create soul-nurturing experiences at home is what drives me in my work. To create outdoor spaces that invite us in visually—through beauty and rhythm; and then urge us to stay with the feelings of connection they evoke within us.

Whether it’s a simple seasonal planter at your doorstep, or a complete design plan for the backyard of your dreams—it is my calling to help you find this peace and connection in your own outdoor space.

Living Designs by Lu has been evolving since 2003. As sole Owner/Operator, B.Sc., Certified Landscape Designer/Technician, I started out designing and implementing small to medium residential landscapes for homeowners. After the birth of my daughter, I took a step back from my design work to focus on Seasonal planter designs and indoor tropical plant maintenance. These are areas within my field that nurtured my creative mind and my connection to plant life, while allowing for more flexibility in my schedule . These days, I am once again called to the world of Residential Design and its limitless possibilities. I love exploring inventive ideas and materials to enhance outdoor spaces and improve curb appeal. With close attention to my clients’ thoughts and needs, and some very intentional brushstrokes, together we can create an outdoor space that speaks directly to you—a space that has the power to nourish your soul and bring you back to centre.

I look forward to connecting with you,

Luann
